Paul was selected to join the Board in December 2018, voted in as Deputy Chair in 2020 and was re-elected in the most recent election.
Personal Statement:
My wife, Jill, and I have been involved with Barton Rural Primary School since 2017, when our two children started, after we moved to Timaru from living overseas.
As a child I was lucky enough to go to a small rural school with the same great community feel as Barton Rural, so I joined the Board of Trustees in 2018 as I wanted to help out and contribute to the school. I am enthusiastic that all students can receive equal opportunities to achieve to the best of their ability.
I have been Deputy Chair since 2020. I really enjoy being on the Board of Trustees, it is a rewarding role and I would like to continue. It is encouraging to see new people keen to join the Board, I would thoroughly recommend it.
I am an Aircraft Engineer but also work at Fonterra, Clandeboye, and in my spare time I enjoy working on our lifestyle block and skiing, especially as a family.
