BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Hamish was selected to join the Board in 2021 and was elected in the recent election.

Personal Statement:
I have lived in the Fairview community for the last 45 years and attended Fairview School in the 1980’s. I have always said that I would like to give back to the school if possible if the opportunity arose and so am always happy to help in any way. We have a great school and community and want to support it as much as possible.  

Now that our son Jack is attending Barton I see this as an opportunity to contribute by offering my experience in finance and governance. I was co-opted to fill in as Treasurer on the BOT after the elected treasurer resigned last year so have been undertaking the role for a few months now. 

I am a Director of an accounting firm in Timaru (Martin Wakefield Ltd) so have a good understanding of finance and governance and I am involved in many Board / governance situations. Our accounting firm has undertaken school audits  for many years so I am also familiar with the aspects specific to running a school.
